Campaign manager quits Charlie Crist bid for Florida governor just weeks after start
Former Governor Charlie Crist’s bid to return to Tallahassee as governor hit a snag as his campaign manager has resigned.

Bill Hyers, who as campaign manager recently helped Bill de Blasio win the New York mayoral election and had been hired by Crist to lead his election campaign, has quit.
The Tampa Bay Times first reported quite abruptly, left the Crist campaign. Hyers “was slated to start full time any day and had already been introduced to donors,” Adam Smith of the Times writes.
As recently as a few weeks ago, Crist had introduced Hyers as his campaign manager at a fundraiser.
According to partner newspaper the Tampa Bay Times, Crist downplayed the move, saying his campaign structure was still coming together and that Hyers wanted to remain in New York.
Hyers told Daily Intelligencer, via text, “I never started, and ended up just deciding to stay in NYC. Great town.”
There has been no word yet about who will take over as campaign manager
