California murder suicide: Movie studio driver Michael Birnkrant kills wife Amy Birnkrant, kids Drew Birnkrant, Sean Birnkrant
Friday morning the bodies of a movie studio driver who shot and killed his wife and two children before turning the gun on himself in their Southern California home were found and now have been identified.
Lt. Rodney Moore detailed how deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to welfare check call and discovered the bodies of Michael Birnkrant, 51, his wife, Amy Birnkrant, 47, and their two children — Drew, 20, and Sean, 11.
Moore explained that the bodies were found in different rooms across the Santa Clarita house on the 28800 block of Startree Lane, all shot in the chest and the gun was near Michael Birnkrant’s body. He added that none of the neighbors reported hearing gunshots.
According to an IMDB listing, Michael Birnkrant was a a set driver for a movie studio for directors Steven Spielberg and J.J. Abrams on major productions, including Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Mission: Impossible III, Little Fockers and Star Trek.
Amy Birnkrant was a former public school teacher, who now ran a day care center called “Birnkrant Family Daycare Home” out of the family’s house.
It was not open at the time of the shooting, according to reports.
