Brian Murphy beats seniors Miriam Lepp, Joseph Giambrone with ‘scissor’ jack
The 22-year-old security guard charged with beating two elderly people inside a Brooksville, Florida assisted living facility will be in court Friday morning.

Miriam Lepp and Joseph Giambrone, an 88-year-old woman and 83-year-old man, were attacked by Murphy who works at the facility as a weekend security guard.
Sheriff Al Neinhuis said most of the bones in both victims’ faces were broken. “It’s a miracle they’re alive,” he said.
Another security guard at the facility, Jonathan Sousa, stepped in to help. A nurse at the facility called 911.
It took a deputy about four minutes to reach the facility and arrest Murphy.
Lepp and Giambrone were transported by Hernando County Fire Rescue to a bay area trauma center with life threatening injuries.
Murphy is charged with attempted murder with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and is being held without bond.
