Brian Godawa interview: Faith-based films, ‘Exodus Gods and Kings’ and ‘David Ascendant’
2014 has proved to be a tremendous year for faith-based films with more coming soon.
Author and screenwriter, Brian Godawa spoke with Dispatch Radio about the films, the move forward for the genre and openly talked about Hollywood’s next big Bible based film: Exodus: Gods and Kings.
Godawa, authoring his own vision in the Chronicles of the Nephilim series, spoke about the recent movies, Heaven Is For Real and God’s Not Dead, but sounds extremely excited about the new film The Remaining, which adds a horror and thriller element.
While the interview touches on several topics and issues surrounding Hollywood and faith movies, Exodus, led by Ridley Scott, becomes an interesting discussion. Like Noah and Darren Aronofsky, the filmmakers are atheist and have expressed strong anti-religion sentiments.
Brian gives a great preview of his upcoming project: David Ascendant, the latest in the Chronicles of the Nephilim series. He explains his approach to take the Biblical account and create a back story, or a extension of the historical facts, to create an entertaining and engaging work ending with David’s rise to be king.
