‘Breakout Kings’ star Domenick Lombardozzi joins ‘Boardwalk Empire’ season 4 as Al Capone’s brother

HBO’s Boardwalk Empire just grew by one, adding Domenick Lombardozzi who will play Ralph Capone, Al ‘s brother.

Steve Buscemi cast Boardwalk Empire photoDeadline reports that Lombardozzi will return to HBO where he co-starred on The Wire, Entourage and Oz as well as Bored to Death.

Lombardozzi joins Stephen Graham, who plays Al Capone, Steve Buscemi, Kelly McDonald and Man of Steel star Michael Shannon.

Boardwalk Empire has received widespread critical acclaim, particularly for its visual style and basis on historical figures, as well as for Buscemi’s lead performance.

After the season 3 finale, creator Terrence Winter already looked ahead to Season 4, which will pick up a year after the Season 3 finale in 1924, and dished a few details about the trajectory that Nucky, Capone, Luciano, Lanksy and Van Alden will take. He said Nucky would evolve into a more focused gangster after his feud with Rosetti. “He’s much more tightly organized, much more calculating — a much more shrewd gangster,” Winter told TV Guide. Sticking to the pledge he made to Eli that he would keep a tight circle, “Nucky will create his own gang” in the new season,” Winter told EW.

There is still no official word as to when season four of Boardwalk Empire will begin, but a Feb. 14 report from Patch.com states that the series is currently in the filming process.

The show will be filming some exterior scenes on Tuesday, Feb. 19, and Wednesday, Feb. 20, in Ditmas Park, a neighborhood located in the New York City borough of Brooklyn.
