WWE Smackdown Live is coming from the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. Tonight we will see the Tag Team Triple Threat Match between The Usos, Rusev Day, and Sanity to determine who will face The Bar. The winner of that match will face The New Day at Hell In A Cell for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. Also, will Samoa Joe really show up at the home of AJ Styles? And What is next between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. All this and more as we lead toward Hell In A Cell.

R-Truth with Carmella vs. The Miz with Maryse

Botches

  • Peyton Royce and Billie Kay’s promo. I know they are supposed to be heels, but that “No Me – Naomi” joke was just atrocious and whoever wrote it should feel bad.

Bodyslams

  • Daniel Bryan vs. Andrade Cien Almas. Although this match was done last week, these two are good enough to open a show hot twice in a row. This match was better than their last, and I look forward to more from them.
  • Tag Team Triple Threat Match. A wonderful match that gave everybody a chance to shine. The tag team division is orders of magnitude better on Smackdown than RAW, and these triple threat matches have only cemented that truth.
  • R-Truth and Carmella. R-Truth is probably the best dumb/brilliant character WWE has ever had. The saga of R-Truth hunting Carmella for a title shot has been highly entertaining, and the culmination tonight with them being paired up for the Mixed Match Challenge was delightful. I can’t wait to see these two in the tournament and the videos we will surely see of these two.

Smackdown Live has been consistently better than Monday Night RAW for a while now, and they had the deck stacked in their favor this week. RAW was a train wreck, and Smackdown was gliding on cruise control. The storylines that have been built up were progressed and everyone performed well. The basics of a professional wrestling show, but those were lost last night. It was nice to see the fundamentals in practice again.
