The winner of that match will face The New Day at Hell In A Cell for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. Also, will Samoa Joe really show up at the home of AJ Styles? And What is next between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. All this and more as we lead toward Hell In A Cell.

Triple Threat Tag Team Match – Winner Faces The Bar to Determine #1 Contenders
The Usos (Jimmy and Jey) vs. Rusev Day (Rusev and Aiden English with Lana) vs. Sanity (Eric Young and Killian Dane with Alexander Wolfe)

Rusev lands a Machka Kick on Eric Young and scores the Pinfall victory.

R-Truth with Carmella vs. The Miz with Maryse

R-Truth rolls up Miz for the Pinfall victory after Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella appear. Bryan and Bella attack Miz and Maryse, but Andrade Cien Almas and Zelina Vega come out and attack Bryan and Bella. Bryan and Bella are able to get Almas and Vega in Yes Locks and taunt Miz and Maryse as the show ends.

  • Peyton Royce and Billie Kay’s promo. I know they are supposed to be heels, but that “No Me – Naomi” joke was just atrocious and whoever wrote it should feel bad.

  • Daniel Bryan vs. Andrade Cien Almas. Although this match was done last week, these two are good enough to open a show hot twice in a row. This match was better than their last, and I look forward to more from them.
  • Tag Team Triple Threat Match. A wonderful match that gave everybody a chance to shine. The tag team division is orders of magnitude better on Smackdown than RAW, and these triple threat matches have only cemented that truth.
  • R-Truth and Carmella. R-Truth is probably the best dumb/brilliant character WWE has ever had. The saga of R-Truth hunting Carmella for a title shot has been highly entertaining, and the culmination tonight with them being paired up for the Mixed Match Challenge was delightful. I can’t wait to see these two in the tournament and the videos we will surely see of these two.

Smackdown Live has been consistently better than Monday Night RAW for a while now, and they had the deck stacked in their favor this week. RAW was a train wreck, and Smackdown was gliding on cruise control. The storylines that have been built up were progressed and everyone performed well. The basics of a professional wrestling show, but those were lost last night. It was nice to see the fundamentals in practice again.
