Botches
- Brie Bella’s faceplant on the Suicide Dive. That was painful to watch and I was legitimately concerned for her. She seemed okay afterward, and I hope she is.
- Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler’s plan to win the Tag Team Championships, and then winning them. This came out of nowhere and feels forced.
- Shawn Michaels’ promo. Michaels had lost me and I wasn’t really paying attention by the time the bell tolled.
Bodyslams
- The Undertaker. His appearance was a pleasant surprise. He was bound to show up at some point to promote his match with Triple H, but it didn’t seem like it would be this week.
This show was a mess. It seemed like they were writing it as it was happening and most of it broke away from all of the stories they’ve been telling over the last few weeks. The only match WWE had promoted that actually took place was The Bella Twins vs. The Riott Squad, and that match was a disaster. The Revival were expunged from the tag team title scene after weeks of building the program with The B Team. But for some reason Bobby Roode is now in the tag team division with Chad Gable. Why did Dana Brooke have to be teamed with Ember Moon to lose a match? Why put Ember Moon against Sasha and Bayley when she has been fighting alnogside them up until tonight? Why is Drake Maverick the new manager for AoP? Even Shawn Michaels bombed on the mic. Who thought an in ring meditation session seemed like a great segment to preceed the main event? Or is this just another ridiculous segment designed to embarrass Bobby Lashley? The main event wasn’t even one of the best Balor vs. Strowman matches. And why was Drew Gulak part of the heels who came out in the end, and featured prominently? Quite frankly, if I wasn’t writing this article, I would not have finished watching this episode. The only redeeming quality was an Undertaker appearance.
