Border patrol disrupts human trafficking event in New York as six victims from India rescued

U.S. Border Patrol agents disrupted an alien smuggling event in Hogansburg, NY.

On Thursday afternoon, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to Massena Border Patrol Station observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino in Hogansburg, NY. Border Patrol agents further observed suspicious behavior by the occupants and conducted a vehicle stop near Fort Covington, NY.  Six citizens of India were inside the vehicle including two who were identified as smuggled aliens. 

“This incident is an example of the hard work of the Border Patrol agents to enforce the laws of the United States,” said Deputy Patrol Agent in Charge Glen Pickering. “Their vigilance prevented two illegal aliens from furthering their entry into the United States.”

The two smuggled aliens were charged with improper entry by alien (8 USC 1325) and an investigation continues.

All suspects are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty in court.
