Bolshoi Ballet’s ‘The Lady of the Camellias’ comes to theaters on February 4

Alexandre Dumas fils’ tragic love story, “The Lady of the Camellias,” is brought to life on the cinema screens by the Bolshoi Ballet on Sunday, February 4 only. The production is a part of the 2017-18 Bolshoi Ballet in Cinema Series, presented by Fathom Events, BY Experience and Pathé Live.

The Lady of the Camellias” captivates audiences with a story of passionate yet doomed love between naïve Armand and Paris’s most desirable courtesan Marguerite, set to Chopin’s romantic piano sonatas and nocturnes. Staged at the Bolshoi Ballet, Financial Times says Choreographer John Neumeier’s “character rich ballet has found a company that is equal to its challenges” with an “impeccable” cast starring Prima Ballerina Svetlana Zakharova in the title role as Marguerite and Principal Dancer of Neumeier’s Hamburg Ballet, an “ardent” Edvin Revazov, as Armand.
