Body of missing Florida boater Jason Cobb found in Lake Jesup
The body of missing Volusia boater Jason Cobb was found Wednesday in Lake Jesup, where he and a friend disappeared Saturday.
UPDATE ON CHARLIE JACKSON HERE
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers found the body about 5 p.m. floating in 6 feet of water near Bird Island after several days of searching, authorities stated.
The empty boat was found about 12 hours into the search, only a mile away from the shoreline. Two life jackets, two paddles, some beer and keys to their truck were found on the boat.
Authorities believe Cobb and Charles “Charlie” Jackson appeared to have been thrown from their boat. The 15-foot boat was found undamaged. Investigators said that “have nothing to suggest they survived this incident.”
The search for Jackson’s body will continue Thursday.
