Bob Mims Memphis’ sports and fitness blog is proud to announce that they will continue to be accessible for free. Initially, a paywall would have been implemented by December 2018. However, in the first eight months of 2018, the website received triple the amount of expected traffic, leading to the website owner dropping his paywall plans. The result is that the site’s fans will continue to be able to read the important and interesting information on sports and fitness, without having to pay for it.

Originally, Bob Mims had launched the blog with the idea of providing them with vital information on the world of health and fitness. To introduce himself as an authority figure, he intended to do provide free access for one year. However, his site turned out to be so popular that it quickly started to rank in the first result of most search engines, quickly gaining a national and international audience. The surge in traffic was so rapid that Mims was able to drop plans for the paywall altogether. He explains: “I knew I had something to share with the world but I wasn’t sure the world would listen as quickly as what they did. I’m very happy they have, however, as it means that I can continue to operate my website and allow it to be accessed for free.”
Bob Mims is a Chartered Public Accountant (CPA), with a personal passion for all things health and fitness. He is also committed to his family and combines his different passions by playing basketball with his children every week. He also coaches a local basketball team and is now in his 60th season for doing so. Unfortunately, 2017 was a poor year for the team’s wins, as they lost every game they played. However, Mims believes that not all was lost, since the team was able to pick up various important life skills.
A number of the games were featured on Bob Mims Memphis’ website as well. He explains: “Our winning streak was well and truly over. We lost every single game. However, we have still been able to progress as players and have come out of this season as better athletes and better people than when we entered it. In my book, that counts as a win.”
Besides health, fitness, family, and work, Bob Mims is also a very Christian man. He is driven by his faith and applies those values in everything that he does. He explains: “I live my life as a Christian, following the teachings of Jesus Christ our Lord. It is my faith and the solace, forgiveness, and salvation that I have found in this, that has enabled me to become the person I am today. Our body is our temple with which the good Lord has graced us. I believe we should all take personal responsibility for looking after our body, therefore, so as to better serve the Lord as well. That is one of the reasons why I have placed such a strong emphasis on health and fitness because I believe that, through me, Jesus Christ will be able to bring more people to health and onto Him.”
