Bill Maher describes Bill Clinton as ‘thin skinned’ and ‘needs to be adored’
The Real Time with Bill Maher host has moved on from every getting Bill Clinton on the show for some deep, pressing questioning.
TheWrap.com asked Maher about Clinton and why the former President has yet to grace the Real Time stage–and won’t any time soon.
“Why won’t he do the show?” Maher began.
“He’s a very talented politician. But he’s very thin skinned, really, and doesn’t take criticism well, and I call it as a I see it. I voted for him. I defended him endlessly when he was being impeached. Back then we were friends. Anytime he came out to the West Coast I’d be invited to events, I once introduced him at some fundraiser.”
Of course, be careful what you say, according to Maher.
“But I have also said critical things. He’s the kind of guy who needs to be adored. If you’re not straight on kissing the ass, don’t get in the game.”
Maher took aim at former President Bill Clinton for meddling and opining how President Obama should handle his broken healthcare promise. Clinton said Obama should “honor” his commitment to let people keep their health insurance plans.
“Obamacare was trying to protect these people who are being ripped off by insurance companies. But, yesterday, Obama said, ‘Okay finally. ‘You know what? You want your shitty, crummy plans? You can have them!’ You want your policy where you go in for an operation and your covered for when they cut you open, but not when they sew you up? Fine, children, have your broken piece of glass that you want to play with!” Maher said during his November show.
“And one reason he had to do this was that Bill Clinton opened his big fat vegan mouth, and said Obama should let people keep their crappy insurance, even if screwed up the whole system. You know what? If you’re a Democrat, the Clintons are a pre-existing condition. “
