Bill Maher battling Willie Robertson to buy Christian Post, to ‘get rid of all that Jesus stuff’

Duck Dynasty‘s Robertson family and famed comedian and atheist Bill Maher are battling to become the new owner of The Christian Post.

Bill Maher donkeyhotey“Basically, what we have is a choice between an atheist and a bunch of rednecks, so, you know, it’s a tough call,” Will Anderson, CEO of CP says in the April 1 article.

Maher says he is excited about the possibility, noting that CP already has the best coverage of atheist groups in the United States. If he wins the bid, Maher suggested he would make a few changes to CP.

“CP would remain as it is now,” he assured, “well … except I would get rid of all that Jesus stuff.”

Willie Robertson informed CP that no one in his family has ever run a newspaper before, but he is “fairly certain it would not be more difficult than making a duck call.”

Both Twitter and Facebook have been lit up with fans and readers of The Christian Post voicing their opinions.
