Bill Kristol says the US needs to put the hammer down on Putin with sanction, financially

The neoconservative editor of The Weekly Standard, William Kristol, thinks we should definitely get more aggressive with Vladimir Putin and Russia for their recent actions in Ukraine.

In an interview on NewsmaxTV with Steve Malzberg, the outspoken, neocon leader said, “I would be happy if we move progressively on sanctions against Putin’s cronies, on travel bans, cutting off access to their bank accounts.”

Kristol said talk from Secretary of State John Kerry and US President Barack Obama is “pretty pointless” unless its backed up.

He believes the US has not done nearly enough. “I would be happy if we strengthened NATO relations and alliances, I would be happy if we tried to get Ukraine closer to us”, Kristol notes.

Kristol said any efforts by the US need to be backed up by strong and coordinated actions with our allies, without this, Kristol says it will be counterproductive.
