‘Big Hero 6’ teasers, clips and trailers: Baymax, Hiro Hamada and development
Disney has released a new Big Hero 6 clips online, so fans can now learn about the adaptation of the obscure Marvel comic book. Don Hall (Winnie the Pooh) and Chris Williams (Bolt) directed the adaptation which takes place in the high-tech city of San Fransokyo, and tells the story of a robotics prodigy named Hiro Hamada (voiced by Ryan Potter) who, with his robot companion Baymax (Scott Adsit) in tow, teams up with a reluctant team of first-time crime fighters to save the metropolis from destruction
As a life-long fan of comic books and of Disney animation, Hall started imagining what a combination of those two things would look like. When he came across the lesser-known Marvel comics series Big Hero 6, he was inspired to create an original story set it in a new, unique world.
Marvel was supportive, but not possessive about what they wanted to do with the property. Joe Quesada and Jeph Loeb went to screenings and became a part of the Story Trust meetings where they would give notes, but they were only ever suggestions and not directives.
The film also features the voices of Maya Rudolph, James Cromwell, T.J. Miller, Jamie Chung, Genesis Rodriguez, Damon Wayans Jr., and Alan Tudyk.
Big Hero 6 opens in 3D on November 7th.
