‘Big Bang Theory’ season 9: Mayim Bialik talks Amy, Sheldon as details emerge
The ninth season of The Big Bang Theory will put the characters in uncharted territory as Jim Parsons’ Sheldon will struggle to understand new relationship challenges and Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting) is faced will the difficult challenge of forgiving Leonard, played by Johnny Galecki.
CBS offered the synopsis of episode one: Brilliant Sheldon is confronted by a mystery of the universe he cannot unravel: when a woman wants time apart to think, exactly how much time does that mean, and is there any way to hurry the process along? In Las Vegas, Penny and Leonard march closer to marching down the aisle, but has Penny gotten over Leonard’s infidelity? And if so, will he do anything to un-get her over it?”
Fans shouldn’t read too much into Amy’s remarks as Mayim Bialik confirms she’s back and they haven’t “broken up.”
“I got asked a lot this summer if I am coming back to the show. Of course! Just because my character needed ‘time off’ from Sheldon doesn’t mean we are broken up, and it certainly doesn’t mean I am not coming back as a cast member.” (source: Kveller)
Season 9 of The Big Bang Theory begins on Monday, September 21.
