Benedict Cumberbatch from ‘Sherlock’ season 3 filming, messages photographers to go cover Egypt

British actor Benedict Cumberbatch had a harsh message for the photographers camped outside the BBC Sherlock set Saturday in Cardiff, Wales.

As the Star Trek Into Darkness star exited his trailer, Cumberbatch hid his face behind a hooded jacket and glasses and held up a sign reading, “Go photograph Egypt and show the world something important.”

Sherlock is currently filming the final episode of the third season.

The fan obsession with the show it understandable, creator Steven Moffat speaks of what makes the stories compelling, “Conan Doyle’s stories were never about frock coats and gas light; they’re about brilliant detection, dreadful villains and blood-curdling crimes — and frankly, to hell with the crinoline. Other detectives have cases, Sherlock Holmes has adventures, and that’s what matters.”

Fans are chasing the production around London trying to snap photos for various blogs (also mentioned here) Cumberbatch and co-star Martin Freeman teased fans at SDCC with a short video, check it out here

While there still are no confirmed dates Sherlock is likely to return in late October on BBC ONE with an air date in the US sometime in January.
