Benedict Cumberbatch featured in motion, audio ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ poster

Benedict Cumberbatch sounds thoroughly chilling as the narrator of this newly-released motion poster for Star Trek Into Darkness.

The artwork is an animated version of the film’s original teaser poster featuring a shot of Cumberbatch as the arch-villain currently known as “John Harrison” surveying the ruins of a cityscape.

As the camera pulls back, we hear the star repeating the lines heard in trailers for the movie: “You think your world is safe. It is an illusion… I have returned. To have. My. Vengeance.”

Directed by JJ Abrams and featuring Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Alice Eve lead the cast.

“Star Trek Into Darkness” will be released in cinemas on Friday May 17, 2013.
