Randy Benderson is the driving force of Benderson Development’s success, momentum he himself has kept going in the face of the legacy left behind by his esteemed father, the late, great Nathan Benderson.
Nathan, the company’s founder, helped propel the business to its early success despite a volatile, ever-changing economic landscape. Randy attended the University of Buffalo and joined his father’s company in 1978. Now, Randy continues his father’s legacy developing the talent of his employees and searching for properties for the company to develop. He has a passion and an eye for opportunity, both in industry and in giving back to various communities that have touched his life. Benderson Development has made an undeniable and profound influence on the US commercial real estate industry.
Randy was born and raised in Western New York. He, his wife Lori, and their three children moved to Sarasota in 2003, when the Benderson Corporate Headquarters were relocated there.

- Former Member of the Board of Directors for the University of Buffalo Foundation, as well as the Board of Directors for Vision Group of Funds (subsidiary of M & T Bank).
- Recipient of the “Excellence in Leadership Award” for the Buffalo United Way Campaign, and co-recipient of the 2008 National Federation for Jewish Communities Family Philanthropy Award.

Randy Benderson recognizes that child hunger and malnutrition is a very real issue across America. Mr. Benderson and Benderson Development have been and continue to be significant partners of the All Faiths Food Bank of Sarasota and the Food Bank of WNY in their fight against hunger.
