‘Batman v Superman’ adds Scoot McNairy, possibles roles and a set update
Fans are feverishly speculating over the casting of Scott McNairy in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Deadline broke the news, but there was no confirmation from Warner Bros or details regarding the role.
McNairy starred in Ben Affleck’s Argo, who will be playing the Caped Crusader. Latino Review is insinuating via Twitter that McNairy will be Nightwing as Richard Grayson was among the first characters rumored to play a minor role in Batman v Superman before appearing full-fledged in Justice League.
This link was established before and associated with star Adam Driver, who has since joined Star Wars: Episode VII. Also, Deadline’s scoop has been confirmed by The Wrap, whose sources are “sworn to secrecy.”
McNairy’s resume of work is increasingly impressive: 12 Years a Slave, Frank, Promised Land and Non-Stop. He also stars in Affleck’s Gone Girl which opens October 3.
Meanwhile, Comic Book Movie keeps fans updated on filming from the set, noting that there have been “military and firefighter scenes in Ponitac Michigan” and “minor reports of commotion going down at the Lexcorp building” – Check out their coverage and photos HERE.
The site now analyzes the possible roles for Scoot, which include The Flash, Green Lantern or a totally new character. The latter is the most likely, especially with Zack Snyder’s approach on Man of Steel, Scoot could just be a “Non-superhero” role.
One of the most interesting theories is Steve Trevor, the love interest of Wonder Woman and a great way to get the ball rolling on her solo film. Check out the full list and commentary HERE
Jason Momoa was the most recent addition, being cast in the Aquaman role. Henry Cavill returns as Superman with Affleck set to take over the role as Batman. Gal Gadot (Furious 6) will play Wonder Woman against Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor. Also cast are Holly Hunter, Laurence Fishburne, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Callan Mulvey, Jeremy Irons, Tao Okamoto and TJ Norris.
Batman Vs Superman opens in theaters May 6, 2016
