Bates Motel’ season 3: Freddie Highmore, Vera Farmiga getting more ‘Psycho’

Freddie Highmore’s Norman Bates appears to be headed further towards insanity in the third season of Bates Motel, fulfilling many of the characteristics unique to the serial killer in Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. New teasers, watch below are complimented by the new poster of the duo….coddling.

The teaser, “Becoming Psycho,” spins Norman and his Mother (played brilliantly by Vera Farmiga) and even melds the two in a disturbing image which foreshadows dark future.

Bates Motel title cardSet against “Mama’s Gonna Give You Love” by Emily Wells, the teaser is truly amazing. Check it out below.

Now the new poster makes the bold and overt reference to the source material, stating “Psycho” next to the disturbing glare of Highmore’s Norman, who is snuggled against Mother’s bosom.

The show also stars Max Thieriot, Olivia Cooke, Nestor Carbonell and welcomes the return of Nicola Peltz as Bradley (Norman’s love interest in season one)

Bates Motel season 3 begins on March 9, 2015 on A&E, 9pm/8c
