Avenged Sevenfold’s ‘Shepherd of Fire’ still rules Active Rock radio
Avenged Sevenfold’s “Shepherd of Fire” rules Active Rock radio for a fifth consecutive week. According to data provided to All Access by Mediabase, “Shepherd of Fire” accumulated 6.528 million impressions Feb. 16-22, making this song the most heard track at the format.
In addition to being the genre’s most heard song over the last seven days, Active Rock radio stations spun the song 2,165 times during the seven-day period, which also places this single on top of the format’s most played tracks. Of local note: Avenged Sevenfold will headline 98 Rock’s (97.9, WTXB) 98 Rockfest, coming to the Tampa Bay Times Forum on Friday, April 25.
Here is a list of the Top 30 songs at Active Rock Radio for the week ending Feb. 22. Unlike most other charts catering to this genre, these tracks are ranked in order of impressions, or most-heard, instead of detections (most-played). Impressions are measured by multiplying the number of detections with the Arbitron-based audience listing to the given stations playing the hits.
