Australian officials confirm death of Rodney Chambers in Philippines, Filipina woman charged
The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has confirmed that a Perth man was murdered while vacationing in the Philippines.
The deceased man is identified as 58-year-old Rodney “Kim” Chambers. Chambers was in the city of Lapu-Lapu for the first week of a three week vacation when his body was found in a hotel over the weekend.
Australia Plus reports a 31-year-old Filipina woman, who Chambers knew, is being charged with the murder.
The yet unnamed woman claims it was in self defense.
Lapu-Lapu is a city in the province of Cebu in the Philippines Visayas.
