‘August: Osage County’ star Misty Upham found dead along Seattle river
Authorities in Auburn, Washington believe that the body of August: Osage County actress Misty Upham was found along a river in suburban Seattle, police said Thursday.
The body was found at the bottom of steep embankment by a member of Upham’s family during a search for the actress, according to police.
While police did not officially confirm her identity, sources told The Global Dispatch (now confirmed by police as well) that Upham’s purse, with her identification inside, was found with the body.
Upham, 32, went missing earlier this month, last seen on October 5 when she left her sister’s apartment in Muckleshoot, Washington, Her father, Charlies, has been public, telling the press, she was reported as missing the next day.
He openly revealed that the actress does have a bipolar disorder and has battled depression and anxiety, but didn’t think she was suicidal.
“The truth is Misty is not stressed over money or career. Her career is going great,” he wrote Sunday. “As her father I do not fear she committed suicide. I feel that she has been hurt by accident or someone has put her in harms way.”
Upham had starred Django Unchained and August: Osage County and was played roles in the TV series Big Love and the TV movie Skinwalkers.
