The kidnapping, which occurred on the evening of Nov. 21 at the North Car Park of the Loyola campus, fortunately ended well with the victim, a Loyola schools student, being released unharmed.

The statement from Vice President, Fr. Nemesio Que also notes that no ransom was paid for the victims release.

In response to the crime, the University will put into place measures to try to ensure student safety to include additional lighting in the parking lots, more guards, stricter rules on who is allowed on the campus and limiting entry points to the campus.

The university is likewise “studying more long-term policies” to beef up security.

The University reminds students and staff to report suspicious characters or behavior inside campus contact ADMU Security Office at 426-6001 loc. 4111, 0999-992-7515, and 0917-562-8641.
