‘Arrow’ season 5 adds Josh Segarra as Adrian Chase, ‘the Vigilante’
Oliver Queen’s allies are changing and now The CW’s Arrow is adding Chicago P.D. actor Josh Segarra (Chicago P.D.) as a new series regular for Season 5.
Segarra will play Adrian Chase, Star City’s new district attorney and an ally of “Mayor” Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), who will now clean up the streets through the legal system.
Adrian Chase also takes on an alter ego, the Vigilante, who first appeared in the 1983 New Teen Titans Annual #2.
In the DC Comics, Chase is a New York City district attorney whose family was killed by mobsters, Chase sought justice in his own way. In the comics, there are several characters operating under the name Vigilante.
One of them has narrative ties to Deathstroke, the major villain during Arrow‘s second season, and the CW’s DC shows have tended to mix and match material from various DC comics sources in adapting characters for these shows.
Segarra is joining fellow new Arrow regular, Echo Kellum, who is being promoted from recurring. The show is making some major changes after recently bidding farewell to series regular Katie Cassidy.
