Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back for the ‘Terminator Genisys’ sequels
Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back again, confirming that he will indeed be a part of the sequel to the upcoming film Terminator: Genisys.
Responding to a question from TheArnoldFans.com about whether he’d be filmingTerminator 6 with the resounding: “Yes, of course, next year”
Paramount Pictures went ahead and set 2017 and 2018 release dates for Terminator 6 and Terminator 7 (obviously official titles will follow) respectively, before fans even got a glimpse of the trailer for Genisys.
At the time of the announcement, it was reported that the plan was to shoot the next two sequels back-to-back, and now Schwarzenegger reveals that he’ll be involved in this full trilogy.
Director Alan Taylor appears to be balancing an ambitious approach to this film by blending the ideas of a reboot and a sequel, playing in the same Terminator canon, but with a whole new cast.
In this new version, Sarah has been raised by Schwarzenegger’s Terminator, an older T-800 she calls “Pops,” who is programmed to guard rather than to kill. Sarah is a highly trained “antisocial recluse who’s great with a sniper rifle but not so skilled at the nuances of human emotion.
Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Matt Smith, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Byung Hun-Lee, Aaron Williamson and Jason Clarke, Terminator: Genisys will open in theaaters July 1, 2015.
