Arnold Schwarzenegger to puruse role of EU President?
Those of you hoping to see Arnold Schwarzenegger back onscreen soon may have to wait a little while longer, if a new rumour about him eyeing up the EU presidency turns out to be true.
According to a source close to the 63-year old Terminator star, who stepped down as Governor of California after eight years in the role, Schwarzenegger is talking to a few people about landing Europe’s top job.
Terry Tamminen, Schwarzenegger’s former chief of staff, told the press: “In the next few years the EU will be looking for a more high-profile president – someone who can unify Europe.”
Well, it seems that The Governator could possibly squeeze in a few film appearances before going back into politics. Another rumour flying around is that he’s working on a sequel to James Cameron’s 1994 spy comedy, True Lies, although Cameron has denied this.
Sylvester Stallone is also lobbying to get Arnie back for The Expendables 2, possibly for a bigger role alongside Bruce Willis. Although the sequel now has a release date (17th August 2012) neither director nor cast are confirmed, although it’s expected that the original Expendables crew – Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, etc – will all be involved.
