Arizona teen, Nicole Easton, breaks feet jumping into pool, mom seeking money to pay bills, video goes viral

A teen leaping from the roof of a home in Arizona ended badly and the video which captured the graphic injury has gone viral across the Internet. Now the situation becomes more controversial as her mother seeks online donations to pay for her medical bills.

Nicole Easton breaks ankle jumping poolNicole Easton, age 19, in a pink bikini, was clearly reluctant to attempt the jump with a friend. The other young woman safely splashes into the water, but Easton comes up short and lets out a blood-curdling wail before the video cuts out.

Her mother, Carrie Yunker, was filming the incident, now has created the page on crowdfunding site gofundme.com asking for $4334 to help cover daughter’s expenses while she recovers.

She breaks it down, saying she will need $1800 for rent and $2400 for things like food, phone and utilities.

Yunker said her daughter could be off her feet for at least six weeks. She goes on to explain that the teenager has just graduated high school, has a good job and has moved into her own place.

“I’m accused of being a beggar, bad parenting, horrible things,” Carrier Yunker said to station KGW.

“So we’re supposed to feel sorry for your daughter doing something stupid?’ Cory Noll wrote in the comments section of the crowdfunding account. “I’m only 27 and when I was young and did something stupid on my own, I had to pay for the consequences, not anyone else. If anything, no one should donate and this will serve as a lesson for your daughter. She’s supposedly an adult now and she’ll have to pay the consequences for her stupidity.”

“This honestly has to be the most pathetic thing I have ever seen in my life,” one person wrote on Twitter.

Another quipped, “Teen jumps off roof, doesn’t land in pool, breaks her feet. Mother wants the #internet to pay the bill #sorrynotsorry.”

“Carrie Yunker, was filming the incident…”

Mum posts on the original video clip that she was “surprised” to discover the KIDS had a video clip of it–which she viewed, and then regretted viewing.

Someone hasn’t got their story straight.

In either case the story is a dazzling combo of teenage foolishness and entrepreneurial chutzpah. While I’m truly sorry for her injury, I think I’ll choose (like with my own kids) to help this gal grow in wisdom by allowing her the privilege of working through the consequences without my financial help.
