Ari Stidham interview: ‘Scorpion,’ Sylvester’s future, meeting Walter O’Brien
CBS has a new hit show in Scorpion and co-star Ari Stidham talked with Dispatch Radio about the show, what’s ahead in season 2, for his character Sylvester and what it was like meeting Walter O’Brien.
“My anxiety is what I draw from the most when I play Sylvester,” Ari says as he begins to discuss his character on the show. Sylvester is the “human calculator” on the team of geniuses which comprises Scorpion and Ari labels “a genius A-Team.”
Ari gives an overview of the “quick” casting process, what he knew of the creators, expecting a ton of aciton nd then talks about the efforts to make the show believable.
“We doing things that theoretically could make sense by these capable indivuals, ” he explains, contrasting that with “normal people” and “real events” – particularly the infleunce of the actual Walter O’Brien.
Scorpion also stars Elyes Gabel, Katharine McPhee, Robert Patrick, Jadyn Wong and Eddie Kaye Thomas and Stidham confirms that the cast “gelled quickly.”
Ari discusses McPhee on the show and confesses his own desire to sing alongside of her and his passion for music before talking about Sylvester and Megan’s “attraction,” praising actress Camille Guaty and sounds hopeful as the show moves towards a second season.
Then Ari shares an emotional and revealing story about Robin Williams during his appearance on “The Crazy Ones,” filming on his 21st birthday. A great, great story and testament to the late comedian’s life and legacy.
