Anthony Gumina arrested as the remains of missing California mom, Heather Gumina found
Two months after her disappearance, the remains of Heather Gumina were found as El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebok post Saturday that they are arrested her husband Anthony Gumina in connection with her homicide.
Officials stated that Heather’s remains were found as police executed an outstanding domestic violence warrant.
Heather Gumina, 33, was reported missing after she disappeared from her El Dorado home on July 15, the same day she was released from a hospital where she received treatment for a broken collarbone.
Now Anthony Gumina, 44, faces charges for Heather’s homicide.

Her mother, Joanna Russel, told Fox 40 on Saturday that family members always feared this would have been the end result, and were heartbroken on Saturday.
“We’re super sad about what happened and I don’t know if we’re ever going to be OK,” Russel told Fox 40. “I miss my daughter.”

The missing person case of Heather Gumina has transitioned into a homicide investigation.
On the evening of Sept 6th, Anthony Gumina was arrested on an outstanding no bail warrant for domestic violence. El Dorado County Detectives simultaneously conducted a search warrant in the Pleasant Valley area of El Dorado County.
During the search, detectives located what is believed to be the remains of Heather Gumina, Anthony Gumina’s wife, who was reported missing on July 19th.
Following the discovery, EDSO detectives arrested Anthony Gumina for homicide. At this time and in order to protect the integrity of this homicide investigation, no further information is being released.
