Ante Novakovic previews ‘Leave of the Tree,’ miracles, working with Harvey Keitel, Colin Farrell
A new Indie film titled Leaves of the Tree has been part of the Gasparilla Film Festival in Florida and creator Ante Novakovic detailed the film which stars Eric Roberts, Sean Young, Armand Assante and was filmed in Sicily.
“It’s a story about a dying man’s journey to discover the miracles of this mystical tree,” Ante begins, explaining the premise of the film. A pharmaceutical company, a priest and more miracles this drama-mystery. “What do we do with it?” he asks of culture through this film when exploring the concept of a “so-called miracle.”
Following a powerful lawyer struck down with a horrible disease, the film journeys to Sicily to ask how humanity would have a miracle while challenging the response from the clergy and medical community.
“It opens up all of the doors…Sometimes we need answers that are given to us and sometimes we hope for answers which aren’t there yet…Toes that line of ‘Can there something more?'”
Ante opens up about the amazing cast, shooting on location, including the surprising challenges of the production.
The Fix was an award-winning short film Ante created with his brother Kresh, who co-starred in Leaves of the Tree, and Ante reveals that the project is being adapted into a feature film.
Ante did reflect on his days as an assistant to Harvey Keitel and Colin Farrell, what it’s like on set and working behind-the-scenes.
