Anne Hathaway hates her Dark Knight Rises Catwoman suit
Anne Hathaway says her Catwoman costume in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film “The Dark Knight Rises” wreaked psychological havoc on the star, who had to starve herself first to fit into and then again to portray a starving working class peasant in Les Miserables, according to a new interview Allure.
“The Catwoman suit. It was a psychological terrorist,” she told the magazine of the skintight getup. “The suit, thoughts of my suit, changing my life so I would fit into that suit … it dominated my year.”
She addressed constantly being on a diet.
“I’m on day six of detox … this diet makes me break out, so I love that,” she joked. “Nothing like living on hummus and radishes and then be all, ‘And I got a pimple. Yeah!'”
The third and final installment in the Nolan trilogy of Batman films will have Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Gary Oldman all return in their roles from the first two films. Tom Hardy joins Hathaway as the villains in “Rises” as well as Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Juno Temple, Matthew Modine and Joey King.
“The Dark Knight Rises” opens in theaters July 20, 2012.
