Andy Serkis says he was ‘blown away’ by ‘Hobbit,’ takes ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’
Andy Serkis, who brings Gollum to life in the new “Hobbit” film is touring the media outlets to promote the film.
Serkis also functions on the production as a 2nd Unit Director and praises the end result during an interview with Collider posted Tuesday.
“I was blown away….Just blown away by it. The clarity at 48 frames per second, it’s so immersive, combined with 3D, the journey of the characters, the arc of the characters and the way the story unfolds is really special. It really sows the seeds for the rest of the trilogy.”
The “Rise of the Planet of Apes” actor is excited about returning to bring Caesar to life for the sequel: “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.”
“I am very much looking forward to playing Caesar again….and working with Matt Reeves on this new film. I think it will be fantastic.”
The production appears to be moving forward and filming to start summer 2013.
“We have had conversations…really interesting conversations and we start filming the middle of next year.”
“The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” opens Friday with a sequel next December and the conclusion to the “Hobbit” trilogy arriving summer 2014.
“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” arrives in theaters on May 23, 2014.
