Andrew Garfield talks Spider-Man, Peter Parker, the relief of the ‘suit and mask’ in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’
The soon-to-be-released issue #210 of Total Film magazine is being promoted as “jam-packed with incredible exclusives and full Comic-Con 2013 coverage” and Total Film has released some comments by Andrew Garfield who discussed returning for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
“What I’ve really enjoyed on this one is the dynamic between Spider-Man and Peter, and how they’re really two different people at this point, and how the alter ego has overtaken and is not allowing Peter to really function,” he told TF.
Garfield was on-hand at the SDCC to feature the footage for fans which showcased “bigger action, a more dangerous villain and an even snarkier Spidey.”
“Peter’s always short-wiring in his life, whereas there’s a great relief in putting on the suit and mask. The anonymity of that and the freedom of expression.”
Amazing Spidey 2 stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field, Chris Cooper and BJ Novak in the film.
Martin Sheen is likely to also have a cameo, probably a flashback of some sort.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens in theaters May 2, 2014.
