Andrew Garfield mocks John Travolta then rocks ‘Spider-Man’ theme song on Jimmy Fallon
Andrew Garfield swings into theaters in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and totally rocked the audience of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night by singing the classic Spider-Man theme song from 1967.
After a brief intro about learning to play the guitar, Garfield jabs at John Travolta’s mistake when introducing Idina Menzel at the 2014 Academy Awards.
He has only recently started learning to play the guitar, however that didn’t stop TV presenter Jimmy Fallon asking Andrew Garfield for a quick performance on Thursday evening.
“This is important, I am no Adele Dazeem… Idina Menzel. This is the first time I’ve ever sung in public…’I [normally] play very simple CatStevens songs and very simple Neil Young songs.”
Garfield soon had the audience on their feet and clapping along as he sang the upbeat hit Spidey theme song with Fallon, who appeared behind the star with a tambourine, and band The Roots also played along, before telling him: “That’s the way to do it.”
Jamie Foxx stars as Electro alongside Green Goblin (Dane DeHaan) and Rhino (Paul Giamatti) with Garfield, Emma Stone, Sally Field all reprising their roles from the first Amazing Spider-Man film.
The film also stars Felicity Jones, Chris Cooper, B.J. Novak, Colm Feore, and a cameo by Martin Sheen.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens in 3D on May 2nd.
