‘Anchorman’ sequel coming to theaters Christmas 2013
Paramount announced Wednesday that the wide release date for the sequel to the 2004 Will Ferrell comedy “Anchorman” will be December 20, 2013.
“Anchorman: The Legend Continues” reunites Ferrell with Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner as Paramount takes over for DreamWorks which did the first film.
Judd Apatow was promoting his new film “This is 40” and spoke about the film and keeping the secrets with MTV.
“Adam McKay and Will Ferrell wrote it, Adam McKay directs it and they came up with the most hilarious script,” Apatow said.
“We read it a few weeks ago and people were laughing so hard that at about 40 minutes in we all just ran out of gas. It was hard to read the whole thing because we got tired [from laughing],” Apatow explained. “I’ve never seen anyone delight in playing a character than Will acting like Ron Burgundy all day. He’s just so happy doing it it’s infectious.”
No details yet from Apatow.
“I can’t give it away because it’s more secret than the next ‘Star Wars.’ All I can say is that there are no Wookies in it,” Apatow said. “But it’s top-secret. You can’t give away the Brick jokes.”
