“Gosnell is the film America needs,” said Catherine Glenn Foster, President & CEO of AUL. “It’s an unflinching account of the atrocities committed by abortionist Kermit Gosnell, America’s most notorious serial killer. It was an privilege to attend the Los Angeles premier of ‘Gosnell’, to spend time with Phelim and Ann, and to meet the real life detective who investigated Gosnell’s crimes and broke this story which is now accessible to anyone through this extraordinary film. Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinney, the investigative and documentary filmmakers, are to be applauded for their heroic work in telling this story.”
She adds, “Kermit Gosnell is presently serving a life sentence without possibility of parole for his crimes, which include first degree murder in the deaths of three infants born alive during an attempted abortion, and involuntary manslaughter in the death of Kamamaya Mongar. While this extraordinary film may be difficult for some viewers, seeing it in theaters is one of the best ways to honor and remember the victims of these crimes. It is certain to awaken the conscience of many to the grim realities of abortion.”
Director Nick Searcy previewed the new film in an interview with the Dispatch.
Dean Cain (Clark Kent/Superman in the TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, God’s Not Dead) stars as a detective investigating the crimes of the Philadelphia abortion doctor.
Gosnell, played by Earl Billings, was arrested in 2011 and charged with seven counts of first-degree murder for newborns and one third-degree murder of an expectant mother. The physician was “snipping” the babies spinal cord, ending their lives after partially birthing them.
The film also stars Michael Beach (Jesse Kane in the upcoming Aquaman film), Janine Turner (Katie on Friday Night Lights), Sarah Jane Morris, Cyrina Fiallo, Alfonzo Rachel and Darryl Cox.
Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer is slated to hit theaters on October 12.
