American Idol winner, Phillip Phillips undergoes kidney surgery
During much of American Idol Season 11, viewers knew that the Leesburg, Georgia singer had issues with kidney pain. Wednesday, 21-year-old Phillip Phillips spent more than 6 hours in the operating room having large kidney stones removed that were too large to pass.
Representatives for the guitar man told People that surgery went well and he is resting. In addition, they say Phillip should be good to go for the American Idol tour which kicks off July 6 in Detroit.
Phillips defeated 16-year-old Californian, Jessica Sanchez to win American Idol season 11.
