Bobby Ray Carter, 51, died after he was stabbed twice in the chest while his son Adam, 27, suffered a stab wound to his arm after a brawl with musicians from the band performing at the Longhorn Saloon at Ao Nang beach in Krabi province, Thailand.

According to reports, Carter was intoxicated and singing with the band, something the Longhorn Saloon promotes as “Jam with the Band”; however, witnesses said that Carter wouldn’t leave the stage to let others sings because he was angry the band didn’t play the song he wanted.

“He and his son quarreled with all three musicians because he wouldn’t stop singing despite the musicians taking a break,” said Lieutenant Colonel Attapong Seanjaiwuth of Krabi tourist police.

“He then demanded the money he had already given as a tip back. But the real fight broke out outside of that pub. He was stabbed twice and died while on the way to local hospital.”

The three band members were arrested and face charges of causing death by physical attack.

The Little Longhorn Saloon advertises on it’s website: “More and more musicians, armatures and professionals, locals as well as tourist are coming to Little Longhorn Saloon to “jam with the band”.  Not two nights is the same. The band enjoy to play and have fun (this is not only work)”.

Ao Nang is a popular spot for foreign tourists on Thailand’s west coast.

Thailand has come under scrutiny in recent months over its treatment of foreign tourists, who are a mainstay of the economy.
