Amber Heard Arrives for Deposition after Video of Fight with Johnny Depp Goes Viral

Actress Amber Heard finally arrived in Los Angeles on August 13 for a deposition in her divorce case with estranged husband Johnny Depp. Heard’s arrival came just one day after a video went viral of her fighting with Depp.

The delayed deposition was scheduled for August 12, but Heard was a no-show. At the time, the actress was in London.

Reports emerged later Saturday evening that Heard was grilled for seven long hours ahead of her domestic violence hearing against Depp next week. Heard was reportedly questioned about her assault accusations, including the most recent one in May and previous claims.

Amber Heard filed a domestic violence restraining order just two days after filing for divorce on May 25. The domestic violence claim was accompanied with photos of Heard’s bruised face and a black eye that reportedly was caused by Depp throwing his cell phone at her just days before she filed.

The deposition occurred just a day after a video surfaced of what appears to be Johnny Depp slamming kitchen cabinets and smashing a wine glass in the kitchen. Heard denies being responsible for leaking the video.

“Domestic violence claims can easily complicate an already complicated divorce,” says divorce attorney Brad Micklin. “Depp’s reputation and livelihood is on the line, so he will likely try to settle the case as quickly as possible.”

“I am not responsible for the release of the video,” she said in a statement. Heard said she did not want the video to be leaked and will be doing all that she can to resolve the matter as privately as possible. The actress also stated that she underestimated the toll the divorce has taken on her over the last few months.

The brief clip that Heard apparently recorded with her phone shows the actress apologizing for something unknown while Depp drank a glass of wine. Sources close to the matter told TMZ that the video was heavily edited. The original clip reportedly showed Heard smiling and egging Depp on. TMZ reports that due to the video’s heavily-edited nature, it is not likely to be used as evidence in the divorce case.

On Monday, Heard’s camp also came out and said that Johnny Depp accidently cut off the tip of his finger in a fit of rage. Depp allegedly dipped his finger in dark blue paint and wrote “Billy Bob” on a mirror. Billy Bob is the actor Depp accused Heard of cheating with, according to her people. Heard and Billy Bob Thornton did a movie together. Depp also reportedly accused Heard of cheating with other men as well.

The incident reportedly took place in March of 2015, just one month after the two were married. Heard and Depp were in a villa in Australia when an argument erupted. Heard alleges that Depp, while high on ecstasy and drunk, smashed several windows and bottles. One of those items, she claims, cut off a portion of his forefinger.

According to Heard’s people, it took Depp 24 hours to get medical help for his finger, so doctors were unable to reattach the fingertip. A flap from his hand was used to sew on a new tip.

Sources close to the matter also say another settlement offer was put on the table on Sunday. Both legal teams are discussing the matter.
