‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ director Marc Webb says ‘Sinister Six’ lineup not set

While promoting the Blu-ray special features and release of Amazing Spider-Man 2, director Marc Webb spoke with Collider about the upcoming films, especially The Sinister Six, which centers on Spidey’s rogue gallery. Fans felt that the closing credits and Oscorp scenes previewed the villains, but Webb says that may not be true.

He then explains “The in the Hat” and who that could be.

“The man in the hat is now, we think of him as The Gentleman who is a benefactor of the Sinister Six. They all emerge from Oscorp and that they are corralled by The Gentleman… they are sort of the mercenaries of Oscorp and the most unruly, beastly set of characters.”

According to Webb, Norman will be back before revealing that the creators don’t have all the details hashed out.

“It’s tricky because we’re not exactly sure if all those people are gonna be in The Sinister Six, or even in the next movie,” says Webb to Collider. “Like the Mysterio mask, I just think looks really cool.  And I love Mysterio, but we haven’t all agreed on it, but I just forced it in because I thought it looked cool.”

Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods) will be directing with Gustav Fiers then presumed to return as The Gentleman with an appearance by Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn.

The Sinister Six opens in theaters November 11, 2016.
