‘Alien Covenant’ trailer, photos, Michael Fassbender set as 2 roles
Alien: Covenant may pick up a few of Prometheus‘ more successful plot threads as Fox teased the upcoming sequel with Michael Fassbender’s David taking center stage. Watch the trailer at the bottom.
Following the events of the 2012 film, director Ridley Scott vows to link up to the classic Alien film with a new cast including Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Billy Crudup, Amy Seimetz, and apparently James Franco.
Fans were thrilled to see the H.R. Giger style xenomorph in the recent poster, see below, and the trailer teases chest bursting and chaos which is certain to result in a high body count.
Fassbender also pulls double duty in the film, also playing a second android named Walter. This is likely the situation in the photos. Check them out below.
Alien: Covenant opens in theaters on May 19, 2017.
Set as the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with Prometheus, Alien: Covenant connects directly to Ridley Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. It begins with the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy. There, the crew discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
