Ali Faulkner interview: ‘The Song,’ the depth of the story, Alan Powell and Richard Ramsey
Former Twlight actress Ali Faulkner is starring in the upcoming faith-based film The Song and spoke with Dispatch Radio about the film, role and bringing her character to life.
Ali gives an overview of the film, Jed’s journey that is inspired by Solomon in the Bible. She plays Rose opposite Anthem Lights singer Alan Powell and details director Richard Ramsey’s approach the powerful story.
“It was just so inspirational to work with him,” she said before detailing the depths of the story and why she feels he has the “mark of a great director.”
Rose is a powerful character, especially for being a youthful woman and Ali explains the amazing characteristics she has as a strong Christian. “I hope to be to as much of her on my best days,” she says.
Faulkner praised her co-star as “respectful” and “generous” as well as commenting on Powell’s swagger and “charm.”
In the year of “faith based films,” the story and the production were well underway before the explosion hit box offices and Ali said she “trusts” the journey and “went all in” after reading the story.
Ali reflects on her role as Bianca in Twilight: Breaking Dawn part 1 and the incredible fandom that surrounds that franchise.
