Alexandria police identify Jose Padilla as man found dead in Holmes Run stream
Police in Alexandria, Virginia, have identified the body found in Holmes Run stream Tuesday morning as Jose Mendez Padilla.
Padilla, 49, of Alexandria, was found around 9:22 a.m. this morning by a passerby, according to police.
The body was found near N. Morgan Street and N. Beauregard Street, city police said. The site is about a half-mile west of I-395.
Authorities are reportedly treating this as a “sudden death” investigation.
Padilla’s body was taken to the medical examiner to determine the cause and manner of death.

The NBC outlet noted that the body was found about a half-mile from where officers shot and wounded a burglary suspect on Friday.
