‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 4 begins in September, adding Ghost Rider

‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ season 4 is scheduled for a September premiere. The rumors are swirling that fans can expect new characters, most interesting is the introduction of Ghost Rider.

According to Den of Geek, now confirmed by Marvel, the fourth season of the popular spin-off show, will premiere September 20, 2016 on ABC. The network renewed the popular television show for a fourth run last March 2016.

The series began with high ratings but with mixed reviews.

Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson Marvels Agents of SHIELD season 3 picFans can expect the season 3 principal cast to return: Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Ming Na-Wen as Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward/HIVE, Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson a.k.a. Quake, Iain De Caestecker as Fitz, Adrianne Palicki as Bobbi Morse, Elizabeth Henstridge as Jemma Simmons, Henry Simmons as Alphonso MacKenzie, Nick Blood as Lance Hunter, and Luke Mitchell as Lincoln Campbell.

Another rumor is the exit of Daisy from S.H.I.E.L.D. to be Quake “full time” and Coulson being demoted from the role of director of S.H.I.E.L.D.

When asked about Phil’s possible replacement as director during an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gregg replied, “I was not given a clear answer. I don’t know that it’s been determined… It all depends when the glorious Nick Fury [Samuel L. Jackson] returns from the cold and the shadows.”

Gregg did sound excited over the possibility of having Agent May as the newest S.H.I.E.L.D. director.

“I’d love it if it was [her]…That would be magnificent. She has earned that right and she is a commander that Coulson would absolutely follow with absolute loyalty.”

According to Screen Crush, a casting call for Ghost Rider was recently placed for a pair of Latino brothers – one described as “always the most dangerous person in the room” and the other “paralyzed in a wheelchair.”

The description was related to the characters Ghost Rider Robbie Reyes and his handicapped younger brother Gabe from the comic book ‘Marvel Now!’ by Marvel Comics.

Chloe Bennet has teased a “darker” version of Daisy, so check that out HERE
