Adam McKay passes on directing ‘Ant-Man,’ Josh Brolin linked to Thanos in ‘Avengers 2’
Marvel news keeping coming as Ant-Man is still searching for a director and the role of Thanos, or the voicing of the character, may be set for The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The Anchorman director, Adam McKay, had been in talks with Marvel Studios over the possibility of picking up the reins the new Ant-Man film, but The Wrap now reports that said negotiations have broken down.
McKay himself took to Twitter to confirm his meeting with Marvel, only to explain that scheduling difficulties would make the project unworkable for him.
And yes, met w/Marvel. Kirby & Lee r my Lennon Mccartney so it was awesome. But have other projects I’m committed to. Not sure it can work.

Meanwhile, the role of Thanos may have gotten a little less cloudy as Latino Review reports Josh Brolin will voice the character in Guardians of the Galaxy and then a future Avengers film.
Guardians director James Gunn had previously commented that his film is “definitely tied to Avengers 3“, with that link likely to take the form of the aforementioned villain.
The Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Cobie Smulders, Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, with Thomas Kretschmann, Samuel L. Jackson and James Spader.
In Ant-Man, Paul Rudd stars with Michael Douglas, Patrick Wilson, Matt Gerald and Evangeline Lilly, Ant-Man will arrive in theaters July 31, 2015.
