Adam Lanza kept huge list of murderers, body counts, pointed to gaming as motivation and saw Sandy Hook kids as ‘easy points’
Three months after the tragic shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, shocking and horrifying new details have to come to light regarding Adam Lanza‘s motive for killing 26 people.
According to a law enforcement officer, detailed in a March 19 article, Adam was a “glory killer” who kept a large hit list, and that he chose the elementary school because he knew he could rack up a large amount of “kills”.
Lanza kept a chilling 7-by-4-foot spreadsheet with 500 names as part of research into mass killings in the past. A source, who requested anonymity, said Lanza kept tabs on the number of casualties each killer racked up and the precise make and model of the weapons used.
“Names and the number of people killed and the weapons that were used, even the precise make and model of the weapons. It had to have taken years. It sounded like a doctoral thesis, that was the quality of the research.”
“We keep calling them mass murderers,” the veteran cop said. “But there should be a new way of referring to them: Glory killers.”
“They don’t believe this was just a spreadsheet. They believe it was a score sheet,” he continued. “This was the work of a video gamer, and that it was his intent to put his own name at the very top of that list. They believe that he picked an elementary school because he felt it was a point of least resistance, where he could rack up the greatest number of kills. That’s what (the Connecticut police) believe.”

Adam was a deranged adolescent who was obsessed with violent video games such as Call of Duty, and it is believed that his reason for shooting at the school was because he wanted live out a video game in real life. He had an extensive hit list, according to a law officer.
“They believe that (Adam) believed that it was the way to pick up the easiest points. It’s why he didn’t want to be killed by law enforcement. In the code of a gamer, even a deranged gamer like this little b**tard, if somebody else kills you, they get your points. They believe that’s why he killed himself.”
The issue of video game violence has been a topic on Capitol Hill, noting that mass murderer Anders Breivik used the popular first-person shooter game Call of Duty to hone his shooting skills before killing 77 people in Norway in 2011.
“There are too many video games that celebrate the mass killing of innocent people — games that despite attempts at industry self-regulation find their way into the hands of children,” Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said.
“Scientific research and international and domestic crime data all point toward the same conclusion: Entertainment does not cause violent behavior in the real world,” the Entertainment Software Association said in January.
