  • Replace Your Cleaning Products

Water is vital for us. This is no hidden fact but we often need to be reminded of it because we have it in plenty now but we soon might be in trouble. A simple change can do wonders. Instead of using regular cleaning products which on mixing with water during washing off become harmful chemicals. These can be hard to treat in treatment plants and we lose a lot of water potable water this way. You can use products which have an environment-friendly tag or make your own using lime juice, baking soda, and vinegar.

  • Replace Bulbs and Buy Energy-Efficient Products

We have been scolded a lot of times for not switching off the appliances like lights and fan before leaving our rooms. However, if the lights and products are not energy efficient, switching them off appropriately doesn’t help much either. You need to replace those lights with LED bulbs which are far more efficient and last much longer. Get rid of older appliances as this tip might not save money instantly but might be great for the longer run.

  • Water Harvesting

Water harvesting needs to be implemented in your house during the time of construction. While it can also be installed later, this tip might be extra helpful for those on the verge of getting a new house. Saving rainwater is a great way to not only reduce your water bills but also help the environment. It is extremely useful for filling up flushing tanks which can use quite an amount of water. • Insulate Your House

Reducing your energy consumption is one of the best ways to become eco-friendly. It is a win-win situation for you and the environment. Insulating your house includes covering up all the air leaks at the windows, doors or any such opening. Any kind of insulating agents like foam spray or loose filling can be used to improve the energy efficiency of your house. Installing programmable thermostats are a good way to conserve energy and it would switch off the heating or cooling system appropriately by sensing ambient temperature.

  • Reduce Reuse Recycle

The 3 R’s are the holy grail of environment conservation but do we really pay attention to it? If not, it’s never too late to start. Overconsumption is one of the major problems in today’s world. With an increase in standard of living, we are forgetting our green vision. Try to reduce usage which will reduce the waste you produce in any way you can. Reuse your products and do not just throw them away because you can afford a new one. Recycle is something that we have been following for a while now but there is always scope for improvement.

  • Use Solar Powered Devices

Utilising Sola Power is the biggest go-green signal we have. We can reduce electricity usage significantly by using solar-powered appliances like solar geysers, batteries and, lights. You can install a few panels on your rooftop and use the energy produced throughout the day at night. This way you are also reducing your energy costs. If you think maintaining solar panels is a costly job, reconsider your analysis and in the longer run, it is saving a lot more than what it is costing.

Every small step counts when it comes to bringing a positive change. These few changes will not affect your daily routine and lifestyle in any way but when implemented by like-minded people can end the misery of cruelty on our planet.
