’50 Shades of Grey’ questions derails New York Senate race debate VIDEO

America’s “50 Shades of Grey” obsession has entered the political arena as a lightning round question in the New York Senate debate dealt with E.L. James’ erotic novel.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and her challenger, Wendy Long faced the awkward moment presented by Liz Benjamin, the host of Capital Tonight on TV station YNN. Check it out:

Republican Long is a New York City attorney making her first run for elected office.

Long accused Gillibrand of not doing anything to create jobs in upstate New York. Gillibrand accused Long of wanting to slash federal spending.

Gillibrand challenger Long traded barbs over taxes, abortion and the economy in a sometimes contentious debate.
